Just went to watch The Green Hornet movie with @aquinella at central park blitz megaplex yesterday.. Starring Seth Rogen as the green hornet and Jay Zhou as Kato. We got there half an hour before the show began and we haven’t had dinner. So we decided to just grab a quick bite at Breadtalk and wash it down with a cup of Quickly Taro Pearl Milk Tea..
Being the movie fan that I am, I was anxious to watch the movie. Whatever the movie, I would always be excited at the beginning, but my facial expression at the end of every movie would really tell you how the movie was for me.. My expression at the end of this one wasn’t nice…
I was very disappointed! Not worth skipping a proper dinner with @aquinella..
To start with, many of the jokes were not very funny, some parts even come off as boring.. For a hero character, the green hornet in this movie is really not worth looking up to. The character comes off to me as a spoiled, childish brat who inherited a lot of money and really has no idea what to do with it but to spend it on weapons to kick his enemy’s ass.. worst of all is that in the process of making the green hornet the hero, a lot of innocent people were injured.. I know I shouldn’t take this seriously.. Its supposed to be funny.. but then again.. The story somehow just conveys the message that its ok to hurt innocent people along the way as long as you are doing something good.. and in the mean time insult your sidekick as much as you can too. Hero or Hooligan?
Oh yeah, the green hornet is a bit like the opposite of James Bond… James bond is cool, smart & confident, gets all the cool gadgets from M, kicks ass and gets all the girls… The green hornet on the other hand, not very smart, not cool, not confident, gets all the cool gadgets from Kato, dont know how to use those gadgets and then Kato is the one kicking ass, and also nobody gets the girl… That’s the funny part of the movie..
Anyways, that’s just my point of view, whats yours?
I know that many people especially from my side of the world (Asia) would watch the movie just because Jay Zhou is in it.. like my cousin @Marcelina_S …
By the way for those who doesnt know who Jay Zhou is.. He is a Music Super Super star in Asia, sort of like the asian version of Jay-Z .. hahahaha.. they even have the same initials..
What I do like about the movie is the bike… Love the Bike! The bike is a customized Harley Davidson V-Rod Muscle!
