This post is a post from the initial zounz @ blogspot.com which I’m about to delete. So I thought I would take some posts from there and re post it here. Originally Posted on Friday, March 28, 2008

Well, as an Indonesian, I’m sad to say that we are losing lots of trees to illegal logging. maybe that’s why the weather has been so unpredictable. I read a news headline that says “Deforestation puts Indonesia as 3rd largest greenhouse gas emitter” and the news was “Deforestation, which releases a significant number of carbon dioxide, has put Indonesia as the world’s third largest emitter of greenhouse gases after the United States and China”
So what do we do? Go plant more trees in the forest? I guess you could actually do that if you have a forest conveniently behind your house.
The smarter way to play a part in saving the world from global warming would be through this website i accidentally came across, www.mybabytree.org. Its a website by WWF that encourages people to plant a tree in the Indonesian rainforest. By paying a small amount of $5.50 and WWF will plant the tree on your behalf. And the cool thing is that you could monitor the tree planted under your name through Google Earth.
So… be a superhero now! Save the earth from global warming
