Jakarta’s traffic is almost unbearable most of the time.. The reason for this is pure and simple maths really.. Too many cars and not enough roads! At least for the past couple of years some development is there around where I live.. But as they start developing, many many problems arise because of bad or even no planning for development.. Just an example.. How often do you see an electricity pole in the middle of the road? Not enough road.. And yet new ones have poles in the middle.. Any other countries has this situation? Send me a picture if you got one!

Now that the cat is out of the bag.. Would you buy the iPhone 4S?
I’m asking myself if I should buy one… Same form factor, same screen, new camera…
As much as I love the new software upgrades, the hardware upgrades are not quite up there..
I’m confused now.. Cos rumor puts the iPhone5 out in May 2012…
Thats way too quick to have an outdated iPhone4S right?

The only reason i’m still using a blackberry phone is BBM!
So this leaked info from TechRadar is good news!
Great news would be if BBM was going to be on Apple’s iOS as well..
I know the iMessage is coming on iOS5.. But i doubt it will pick up quite as fast as BBM did in Indonesia..

Would you give up your blackberry phone if it was available on Android or iOS?

One of the thinnest mobile phone I ever used was made by samsung.. I forgot which model it was but if I wasn’t wrong it was around 8mm thin.. Now this phone made by UMEOX from china is much thinner! Measuring at 0.58mm, the UMEOX V3 claims to be the world’s thinnest phone!

Even if it is thin enough for your wallet, I dont think it’s strong enough to be put in the back pocket of your jeans and sat on… It is a basic GSM phone.. perfect companion for your SUPER Smartphone if you ever need a second phone…

I was next to this truck in Jakarta which had interesting stickers on the door.. I’m guessing the truck driver wanted to show off his truck’s facilities..

“AC Alami” means “Natural Air Conditioning”

In Jakarta’s bad traffic conditions, I guess the driver needs those facilities to relax while driving… Hahaha

Just watched this Indomie rap video on youtube via my sister’s blog (www.karinzhou.com)..

Its a vid titled simply “Indomie” by a rapper J2O (@j2ocean) from the UK. Now this guy is one smart rapper!

Indomie is a BIG thing in Indonesia! Its THE favorite instant noodle! A necessity in most homes!

So when a rapper gives cred to their beloved Indomie… Indonesians sends clicks, views and comments in return on his you tube page! 317,946 views in 4 months! And much more once it goes viral in Indonesia im guessing.. I wonder if Indofood (Indomie producer) has approached J2O to do some endorsement for them in Indonesia.. It might just work out well actually..

This vid has some of the necessities of a Rap music video.. Gals *check*, Mercedes Benz *check*, Gucci *check*, Lot of Bass *check*… But it was pretty much a funny, entertaining version of telling you how to cook Indomie… It goes:

“Do the cooking dance, throw a sachet in, let the water boil, rip the packaging, throw a packet in, there’s no practicing..”

Ever since he announced that his resignation as CEO of Apple, Steve Jobs has made headlines everywhere!

Most of them discussing about how the company would not be able to replace Steve Jobs.. discussing the possibilities that it might be downhill for Apple without Jobs.. Apple shares going down.. I also read an article which says that 20% of customers surveyed in China mentioned that they will not purchase Apple products without Steve Jobs on the lead.. Now I think that is all a bit on the extreme side..

I have the optimism that Apple would do great in the future! I believe that Steve Jobs has laid all the right foundations for Apple both in the technical aspect and also in the corporate mindset of the Apple Team! Lets not “Mourn” over his resignation but rather Learn from what he has done right!

Below is a letter from Tim Cook, the new CEO to his team:

Team:

I am looking forward to the amazing opportunity of serving as CEO of the most innovative company in the world. Joining Apple was the best decision I’ve ever made and it’s been the privilege of a lifetime to work for Apple and Steve for over 13 years. I share Steve’s optimism for Apple’s bright future.

Then I read an article in Forbes.com by Steve Denning which pointed out why Steve Jobs was so successful..

1. Steve Jobs the unique designer, artist and visionary
2. Steve Jobs the great communicator
3. Steve Jobs had a fierce intent to delight the customer, a ferocious determination to look at the world through the eyes of the customer

I have always believed that the success of a company should not just be measured its leaders’ success. It should definitely be measured by how successful the company continues to be even after there has been a change of leadership!

This can only be done when a company has strengthen its foundations, its core values, culture, or in Tim’s words, its DNA!

Every leader has their own way, their own style on how to run a company. They will all certainly have different competencies. But if they all strive and believe in the same core values, then they are on the right track! Whatever competencies lacking can be covered by getting the right people to add into the team.

Many people don’t believe that Cook is the unique designer, artist and visionary that Jobs is, they also don’t believe that he could be the great communicator like Jobs. However it seems that Jobs has managed to influence everyone within his company to share the same DNA; a fierce commitment to see the world honestly through the eyes of the customer and to do whatever was necessary to delight them.. This in my opinion is Steve Jobs’ true success! This DNA is what will continue to drive Apple to future success!
