So on the 6th February 2010, Facebook celebrated their 6th birthday!!

And the site still shows no sign of slowing down…

Last year, before Facebook’s 5th birthday, Mark Zuckerberg wrote:

“Tomorrow is Facebook’s 5th birthday. This is a happy occasion for Facebook, but much more significant to the Facebook team is the fact that over 150 million people around the world are using Facebook to connect with the people in their lives. Facebook was founded in 2004 to give people the tools to engage and understand the world around them. We are glad and humbled that so many people are using Facebook in this way.”

I wonder if he made a birthday wish for an extra 250 million facebook users in 2009, cos if he did, then his wish came true..

This year Mark said:

“Today we’re celebrating our sixth birthday, and this week there will be 400 million people on Facebook. Just one year ago we served less than half as many people, and thanks to you we’ve made great progress over the last year towards making the world more open and connected.”

To celebrate the 75th anniversary of Monopoly, Hasbro will be launching a circular version of the board game.

According to Hasbro, the circular monopoly was one of the initial concepts for the board game.

The rules of the game stays the same, but the shape was not the only change, in this new monopoly, you don't have to worry about losing your money when you go take a leak... that's because there is no more cash, instead, each player is given a chip and pin credit card... and oh by the way... nobody plays the banker... there is a central console that does all the banking...

would you buy another monopoly to add to what you already have?

Andi Susanto (31), an Indonesian working as a security guard, lost 6 of his teeth and received 51 stitches around his lips after the cigarette that he was smoking exploded! His fiancée explained that they were going to get married soon, and now she wants Andi to get a new set of tooth implant before they do! She added that the doctors might remove 2 more tooth due to fractures…

Andi then said that he will NEVER smoke again!

The cigarette manufacturer is as confused as anyone else about the incident.… so just a warning to all you smokers out there.. they might add a new warning on the label… “Warning, cigarette might cause loss of tooth due to unexpected explosion!”

So a tourist got into a Taxi in Bali…

He told the driver, “Take me to the beach please”…
and he added “Please be careful!”

he was admiring the beautiful scenery along the way… and was surprised when the taxi driver stopped in front of a supermarket… he told the driver.. “I said to the beach.… not supermarket!”

The taxi driver replied, “Mister, you keep change where to go… first you say go beach… then you said Please Bli… Carrefour…”

(“Bli” in balinese means “Brother”)

Yesterday I was browsing instructables.com and I found a very simple way to make your own ice cream in 5 minutes. http://www.instructables.com/id/5-minute-Ice-Cream/

So I dropped by to the supermarket and got the ingredients I needed..

Got some fresh strawberries…

Whipping Cream & sugar…

So according to the instructions, all you need to do is mix it all with a blender…

lesson learnt though was to wash and prep the fruit first before freezing..

Back to the process…

Blend it all together..

And tadaaaaaa.…. YUMMM

Made some extras to be frozen for tomorrow..

Well the world has watched and paid for their tickets.. and as reported by thehollywoodreporter.com, Avatar has an international earnings total of $1.288 billion, exceeding “Titanic’s” 13-year international boxoffice record of $1.242 billion.

Thats a lot of $$$$$$!

Although the American domestic earnings record is still held by Titanic $600.8 million, Avatar is coming up very close at $552.8 million, and is estimated to break Titanic’s record soon..

For Titanic fans, don’t be dissapointed, the record is only looking at face value of the amount earned, but if you wanna calculate the inflation factor, according to a formula developed by the department of U.S. Labor Statistics, “Titanic’s” 1997 worldwide gross is currently worth at least $2.5 billion on an inflation adjusted basis, or $805 million domestic and $1.664 billion foreign.

The true champion however is “Gone with the Wind,” which grossed $400 million worldwide in 1939, which would now be worth at least $6 trillion in today’s dollars.

I read somewhere that Blueberry juice helps better your memory.

For a forgetful guy like me, a memory boost would be good..

So after a bit of online research,  I found that blueberries are:

• Lowers cholesterol better than prescription drugs. (Based on a resesarch by US Department of Agriculture)

• Prevents urinary tract infections

• Improves memory, coordination and balance

• Blueberries have been shown to have a positive effect on aging. In animal studies, blueberries appear to reverse some aspects of brain aging.
